Solicitor (One Year Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

Clan Childlaw

Full time (or a minimum of 4 days a week)
Clan Childlaw is a law centre providing an outreach legal representation service for children and young people.
Glasgow based role. Some travel and work outwith office hours may be required to deliver outreach services. Some experience in family/child law would be advantageous. May be suitable for a recently qualified solicitor or someone wishing to build on child law experience in a specialist child focused law centre. We will also consider applications from second year trainees or secondments.
SALARY: £26,841 per annum (pro rata)
Membership of the PVG Scheme is essential for this role and the successful candidate will be required to apply for the scheme and produce an acceptable PVG Scheme Record.

MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Work as part of the Representation Team to deliver child-centred legal outreach services in Glasgow and surrounding areas
• Provide legal services to children and young people, including representation at Court and Children’s Hearings.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• A solicitor with a current practising certificate and knowledge of legal procedures, the law and legal issues as they relate to children and young people
• Someone who is excited by and committed to the work of Clan Childlaw and ideally has experience of working with children and young people.
• Someone who can communicate with clients warmly and sensitively.
• Someone who can work independently using their own judgement
• Someone who can manage their time and is comfortable with urgent work.

Property Solicitor/Associate based in Ayr

The McKinstry Company’s highly experienced property team are currently recruiting for a Solicitor to deal with a full range of property related matters. The role will involve working closely with the Partner and other lawyers in the team but will give responsibility for managing a varied case load of residential and commercial property matters. The successful candidate will have:

   •   the ability to assist with acquisitions, disposals and leasing transactions across industrial / retail / office / leisure and storage distribution sectors;
   •   a drive to succeed and develop their career as a Commercial Property Solicitor;
   •   an excellent work ethic and the ability to work to tight deadlines; and
   •   a willingness to become involved in business development projects.

SOLICITOR – RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCING
This role will suit a residential conveyancing solicitor with at least 2-5 years’ experience who may be looking for a new challenge that will include the opportunity to be involved in additional business development initiatives. You will manage your own varied caseload of purchase and sale transactions and related conveyancing activities, but also work as part of our wider team as well as possessing first class client and third party communication skills. Good IT skills are also required.

PARALEGAL – RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCING

We are also looking to recruit an experienced paralegal to provide support and administer their own case load, including the processing of purchase and sale transactions through to settlement. The management of title transfers and discharges is also expected, as well as dealing with client and third party communications.
This post holder should possess excellent organisational and administration skills and be comfortable dealing with clients, both face to face and on the telephone. The ability to work to deadlines is required.

CASHIER

We are seeking to recruit a legal cashier with several years’ experience of preparing and inputting postings (currently to Lawware), reviewing ledgers, cash balances and liaising with fee earners and support staff. You will also prepare regular reports and ensure compliance with accounts related rules and regulations. The post holder will also be responsible for processing payroll using SAGE.
The successful candidate should be SOLAS qualified, have experience of dealing with the cash related elements of conveyancing transactions and executries. They will possess excellent computer and communication skills, be well organised and be familiar with law society requirements.
We will consider full time and part time applications for this role.

Legal Secretary

Kingsley Wood & Co Solicitors Ltd

You will have current knowledge and experience dealing with residential conveyancing transactions and a good understanding of what is required from take on to settlement.
Attention to detail and good presentation of documents will also be required.
Communication skills are also essential as you will be expected to communicate with clients as well as the general public.
The work involves audio typing with the usual residential conveyancing administration and requires good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work.
We are looking for a Legal Secretary who does not need to be trained into the job and who can work safely with minimal direction.
This is a full time position.
