Family Solicitor (up to 5yrs PQE)

TC Young

TC Young are looking to recruit an experienced family law solicitor for our Glasgow office for a 6 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will report to the family partner in Glasgow, and due to the volume of work within the department there will be a requirement to manage their own caseload. Ideally this is a full-time post but consideration will be given to candidates willing to work a minimum of 21 hours a week.

The successful candidate must:
  • Be passionate about this area of law,
  • Bring with them significant family law experience.
  • Be capable of ‘hitting the ground running’
  • Be comfortable and able to work under pressure.
  • Be well organised with the ability to plan personal work to meet competing deadlines (with limited supervision).

Reliable with excellent attention to detail, and good research skills you will be working in a small team with extensive client contact. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to quickly understand a client’s requirements and tailor advice accordingly. It is also hoped that the individual will be keen to mentor junior members of staff.

SLAB experience is essential along with a minimum of 1 year (post-qualifying) family experience.

In return, we offer: a friendly down to earth office, structured training, a commitment to a good work-life balance and 33 days (FTE) holiday. The firm feel it is mutually beneficial that people enjoy their job and work hard to ensure they do. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy family law department.

Interested candidates should send their CV (limited to 2 pages), preferred working pattern and salary expectations to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
