Legal Cashier

Mitchells Roberton

Mitchells Roberton are looking to recruit a full time Legal Cashier into our long established Glasgow City Centre based practice. The successful candidate will be joining a busy cash room and will, as part of the team, be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Law Society Accounts Rules. Previous experience of working in a legal cashroom is essential as is the ability to work in a close team.

As a member of the team your main tasks will include fast and efficient processing of a high volume of banking payments; the accurate input of entries to our accounts system; timely allocation of funds received; liaising with fee earners and colleagues to ensure all funds are allocated; processing firm and client invoices; preparing cheques for banking; daily reconciliation of bank accounts and petty cash; and filing of bank statements.

The successful candidate should have strong IT skills as they will be required to work extensively with online banking platforms (CB Online, RBS Bankline) as well as frequent use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Experience with the Lawpro accounts system, or equivalent, is essential.

The individual should be confident, organised and have the ability to cope under pressure with a high volume of transactions. SOLAS qualification, or the desire to work towards it, is preferable but not required.

Starting salary will depend upon experience.
