Seminar Details:

In this seminar Ronnie will examine the various options open to creditors to enforce a decree or decision and their relative effectiveness. He will cover the different types of warrants and procedures available in small claims, simple procedure, summary cause and Court of Session procedure. He will also look at the various forms of diligence and report on their use by published numbers and effectiveness. The seminar will further cover the changes introduced (and to be introduced) by the Bankruptcy and Diligence (Scotland) Act 2007 and touch on the Accountant in Bankruptcy’s Review of Diligence which should have reported by early 2018.

Ronnie Murison started work as a trainee with Stirling Park in 1984, becoming a Sheriff Officer in 1987 and shortly afterwards also a Messenger-at-Arms. He has had 20 years’ experience of front line service and enforcement. He is now the Director of Sheriff Officer Services working with clients. He has served six years on the Executive Committee of SMASO (Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers) and is also on the SMASO Fees Committee.
