Seminar Details:

This seminar will provide an update on various aspects of human rights law, including an update in terms of the coming into force of the Contract (Third Party Rights) Scotland Act 2017 and the implementation of the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Act 2015.


Ximena is an Advocate with Hastie Stable. She worked at the Ministry of Interior Affairs and at the Ministry of Law and Justice in Colombia, prior to becoming a legal advisor for the Advocate General's Office on human rights, extradition, military justice and criminal law. She became a prosecutor in cases of alleged violations of human rights by members of the Colombian armed forces before she moved to the UK. She is regularly instructed and has developed a consistent criminal law practice since calling to the Scottish Bar.
