Advocacy is the art of persuasion- good advocacy is as much about knowing what not to do as it is about being aware of what you should do.

The TANQ Society is delighted that Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull has agreed to speak in a return of the popular seminar - "How Not to Annoy Your Sheriff"

Sheriff Principal Turnbull is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1988, working for A.C.White in Ayr and Levy & McRae in Glasgow before joining MacRoberts in 1993. He became a partner there in 1997, specialising in commercial and construction disputes and health and safety and environmental prosecutions, and served as the managing partner from 2011 to 2014. He was appointed as a part-time sheriff in 2011 and became a full-time sheriff in 2014. He was appointed Sheriff Principal of Glasgow and Strathkelvin in 2016.

Cost: Free for trainees, solicitors (up to 2 years' PQE) and law students.
For Solicitors over 2 years PQE there is a charge of £20.
