The Royal Faculty's TCPD Programme running from January-June 2017 has now been finalised.
The Royal Faculty's Triennial Dinner is one of the flagship social events of the legal calendar. The dinner coincides with the 200th anniversary of the Royal Faculty Library and will also be a celebration of this significant milestone for the legal profession in Glasgow. Having been established in February 1817 the library is one of the oldest in Scotland and an institution which the Royal Faculty is rightly proud off.
Glasgow AWI Court is to issue practice updates approved by the Sheriff Principal in order to avoid the need to constantly amend or reissue the AWI Practice Note.
A very fine day was had by 11 teams (32 players) at a sunny Pollok Golf Club yesterday competing for the Brodie Cup. In the event, the trophy was won by a team from Walker Laird.

The Scottish Civil Justice Council (SCJC) is seeking new members in the first major recruitment exercise since it was launched. Positions are now open for a solicitor member, two consumer representative members and two Lord President members (discretionary appointments which can be made by the LP). The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 01 April 2016.
The Glasgow Medival Trust has been established to share and promote interest in the mediaeval history and heritage of Glasgow from its foundations in the 6th century AD, with a focus mainly on its mediaeval development within the period 1100 to 1600.
Glasgow and Strathkelvin Sheriffdom Practice Note no.2 of 2015 has been issued - dealing with applications under the Adults With Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.
At the award ceremony on 3rd Sept. the Royal Faculty were joint winners of the Faculty of the Year award with the GBA.
The RFPG's Sept-Dec CPD Programme has now been published. Highlights include - the Dean's Debate (free event); a seminar to be taken by the Law Society President and Conferences on Family Law, Personal Injury and AWI/Succession;
The Royal Faculty's interfirm golf tournament - the Brodie Cup - was played on Wednesday 13 May in the sunshine at Pollok Golf Course. The winning team was a composite team representing Watt Law, and comprised Council Member Alan Watt, Robert Vaughan (R S Vaughan & Co) and Alastair Frood (Shepherd and Wedderburn).
Vacancies in the Offices of Dean and Vice-Dean
The Annual General Meeting of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow will take place on Thursday, 4th June 2015 at 5.30pm. On this date the offices of Dean and Vice-Dean will fall vacant.
In terms of the Bye-laws nominations are called for to fill these vacancies. Nominations must be signed by the member nominated (or if appropriate the practice unit) and proposed and seconded by two other members. They must be lodged with the Chief Executive at the Royal Faculty Building, 12, Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow not less than three weeks before 4th June 2015.
The Brodie Cup (the Royal Faculty's inter-firm golf tournament) will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, 13 May 2015 at Pollok Golf Club.
