Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow

Royal Faculty Library

From 17 May 2021 the library will be open as follows -
Mon.-Thurs.    9am-7pm
Fri.                  9am-5pm

It is also hoped that weekend opening will restart very soon.

As firms begin to look towards a post-pandemic business model, including flexible working and business resilience, membership of the Royal Faculty with access to the library space and resources are of increasing relevance.

The Royal Faculty is committed to maintaining a first class library which is of relevance to all its members. Staff at the RFPG library are ready to help members in any way they can. As trained information professionals, experienced in accessing information from a wide variety of sources, and by utilising access to a wide range of electronic sources and the unique collection of texts and resources, we are well placed to assist members.

Library stock - At a time when budgets have been constrained and the cost of purchasing legal resources continues to rise it makes increasing sense for firms (both large and small) to rely on the collective resources available from the Royal Faculty library.

Subscriptions to online resources - As well as retaining our current subscriptions and continuing with our book purchasing policy the library has ensured that it has electronic subscriptions to a range of online legal databases (including Westlaw and LexisNexis) to complement the physical stock held by the library.

Document delivery - The library’s document delivery service continues to be a very popular service for members. The library can supply a very wide range of documents by email or DX. We aim to provide an efficient, helpful service and to satisfy all requests for document delivery within 2 hours of receipt.

Enquiry Service - If you have a question arising from your work or need help with your research perhaps the RFPG library can help. You can contact us by phone, fax, email or in person. We welcome enquiries and treat them as top priority. In order to answer your enquiry we utilise the RFPG library’s extensive resources. Please be assured that each and every request will receive our immediate attention.

Catalogue - The library catalogue is available online at www.rfpg.org - the full range of resources held by the library can be searched here from your own office.

Quiet Study - The main library is conveniently located in the heart of the city and provides an ideal space for quiet study, away from the pressures of the office, surrounded by a wealth of legal resources. The library also has WiFi internet access and laptops available for members’ use and providing access to our electronic resources.

Induction Training - An induction session can be arranged to outline what is available from the library and in what ways the library can assist you in your information needs. This may be of especial use if your firm has new trainees starting and you would like to enable them to get the most out of the resources on offer in the library.

Sheriff Court - The Royal Faculty also has a small library in the Sheriff Court stocked with a number of case report series and legislation and a collection of core textbooks as well as computers, printer and internet access. This is intended for court practitioners to use as a last-minute reference resource. If you require access please contact a member of the library staff who can arrange for swipe-card access

By accepting you will be accessing a service provided by a third-party external to https://www.rfpg.org/
