5. The Master Policy – The Reality of Claims and Risk Management

Seminar Details:

This talk focuses on real claims scenarios under the master policy and how risk management could have played a part in mitigating or even preventing such claims.

This will be presented against a backdrop of the performance of the Master Policy and the risk management agenda for the coming year, including compulsory risk management CPD.

We will provide plenty of opportunity for interaction and questions to ensure attendees maximise the ‘take-aways’ from the event.

Gail Cook
Gail joined Sun Alliance Insurance Group as a Graduate Trainee in 1986. For the majority of her career she has been involved with Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines business. She has over 30 years underwriting experience, evaluating the risks and exposures created by professional firms and prior to joining Lockton she held the role of UK Head of Financial Lines for Zurich.
At Lockton, Gail’s role focuses on client service with a major focus on risk management for the legal profession in Scotland.

Linda Moir
Linda Moir joined Sun Alliance Insurance Group (along with Gail Cook) as a Graduate Trainee in 1986. Long since the last survivor of that intake, Linda has worked since 1993 exclusively in Financial Risks Claims, including Crime, D&O and Professional Indemnity where she has for many years specialised in the defence of claims under the Law Society Master Policy.
As a senior member of the RSA Team, Linda has had stewardship of many of the largest cases handled under the Policy, and has been at the forefront of RSA’s response to the flood of CML claims faced in recent years.
Linda has written and contributed to a number of articles on Risk Management for the Law Society Journal, and spoken at various Law Society and related professional events.
