Topics and speakers for the Royal Faculty's 9th annual Family Law Conference will be -

1. Joy Division - Division of Property on Divorce (Lynda Brabender QC)

2. Cohabitation - where are we now? (Morven Douglas, Morisons)

3. Child Law - is it fit for purpose in the 21st Century? (Lisa Girdwood, Brodies)

An update on Child Law - focussing on -
     • case management
     • the views of the child
     • Brexit

4. Financial Provision on Divorce (Lynda Lennox, Tilney)

 Lynda will discuss financial provision on divorce including: pre divorce; taxation of assets; pension sharing orders; and protection policies.


Speakers:

Lynda Brabender Q.C.

Lynda called to the Bar in 2005 and took silk in 2017. She specialises in family law and public law as it relates to children. Lynda is a member of the Scottish Civil Justice Council and sits on the Family Law Committee of the Council.

Morven Douglas

Morven is an Associate in the Morisons family Law team in Glasgow and advises clients on all aspects of family law. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Family law
and is a trained Collaborative Lawyer. She has a particular interest in cases with a cross border or international element and will strive to find workable solutions in these complex cases. Morven is a member of Consensus Collaboration Scotland and also a member and past Treasurer of the Family Law Association.

Lisa Girdwood

Lisa is partner in the Brodies LLP family law practice. Specialising in divorce, separation, child law and international child abduction, she also has extensive experience in relocation matters, financial provision, mediation and representing the interests of children as curator ad litem.
Lisa also represents incapable adults in her role as court appointed safeguarder. She is an accredited mediator and in the Chambers UK Guide to the legal profession Lisa has been described as "a tenacious litigator and talented collaborative lawyer".

Lynda Lennox

Lynda joined Tilney in 2007 and has over 30 years experience in Financial Services. She is a Chartered Financial planner holding advanced qualifications in business financial planning, pensions funding, taxation and trusts.
She specialises in separation, divorce, pre and post nuptial planning, pension sharing and is also trained in Collaborative Law as a Financial Neutral to assist both clients and their solicitors through the financial aspects of divorce.
Lynda provides financial, retirement and estate planning advice to privtae clients, their families and busy professional individuals to help them achieve their financial objectives and plan for the future.
