From the current year, all solicitors are required to complete one hour of risk management CPD. This seminar on future-proofing small to medium-sized businesses is the first in a series of verifiable risk management CPD seminars which the Royal Faculty will hold over the course of the year.

 

This seminar will cover the following -
   • An introduction to Business Continuity Management (BCM)
   • The benefits of having a BCM programme
   • The current threat landscape for businesses
   • The BCM lifecycle
         o Business Impact Analysis
         o Business Continuity Plan
         o Embedding and training
   • Tools and helpful hints to help organisations manage their BCM programme
   • Questions and answer session

 

Alison Stone is a Business Risk & Resilience Specialist who helps future-proof small to medium-sized businesses with her expertise in business continuity and data protection.

After spending her career in the IT, Risk Management and Hospitality industry, Alison knows that risk is an inherent part of business—but that every business can develop the skills and knowledge to respond adequately to any incident that could damage their assets, revenue or reputation.

As consultant, Alison has completed numerous Business Continuity Management projects on behalf of clients in the Oil and Gas, Financial and Legal sectors. She has successfully overseen and managed large projects migrating, updating and installing IT infrastructure for her clients. Additionally, Alison has done extensive GDPR consultancy work with clients to ensure their compliance with current EU/UK regulations.

In addition to her extensive Business Continuity and Data Protection experience, Alison has a MSc in Gastronomy and is undertaking further academic study into the resilience of family businesses and the impact that innovation has on them.

Alison is director for her own company, 3 Minutes to Midnight Limited.
