With the Scottish Government’s consultation on Legal Aid reform concluding on 19 September this will be a timely examination of the issues facing the Scottish Legal Aid systems and practitioners engaged in legal aid work. Asking the central question - can you make legal aid pay? The debate will be chaired by Donald Reid (the Dean of the Royal Faculty).

Martin Monaghan is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in family law, a Family law Arbitrator with the Family Law Arbitration Group Scotland, an expert in Guardianships, and has a comprehensive knowledge of the Civil Legal Aid System in Scotland.
Ross Yuill is a Solicitor Advocate with extended rights of audience. Although practising in the field of criminal law Ross is also regularly instructed in relation to Children’s Panel matters, Children’s Referrals, Criminal Injury Compensation claims, Proceeds of Crime matters and other related civil court matters. He is a past President of the Glasgow Bar Association, a Peer Reviwer for the Scottish Legal Aid Board and currently sits on the Scottish Government's Legal Aid Advisory Panel.
