John is a Partner at Lindsays and member of their Management Board.  He heads the Firm’s Scotland-wide, Dispute Resolution and Litigation group.
 
John has over 20 years’ experience in a wide variety of disputes, with particular expertise in both commercial litigation and property litigation.  He also leads the Firm’s specialist debt recovery team.  John’s practice includes providing clients with crisis management support, responding to anything from short-term reputational challenges to existential threats to their business.
 
In 2025, John was elected Dean of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow.  He also chairs the Faculty’s Audit, Marketing and Court Committees.  John is charity trustee and currently serves as Preceptor of Baillie’s Institution.
