Membership Benefits
The Royal Faculty is a professional society for lawyers in and around Glasgow. It is a collegiate body which represents the interests of its members and also provides a range of services to members. As your local law society we are keen to represent members effectively and the potential of the Royal Faculty to use its membership weight to lobby for the interests of members at local and national level is considerable.
Free CPD Education

The RFPG runs a series of CPD seminars with contributions from senior members of the legal profession. All live seminars and conferences are all free for members. Recorded seminars are made available over the internet, which members can access at a discounted rate.
The Faculty also provides a Trainee CPD programme which builds on the work carried out by its TANQ (Trainee and Newly Qualified) Society - providing free seminars and social events for trainees and newly qualified solicitors.
Royal Faculty Library

The Faculty is dedicated to serving its members by offering a first-class library experience. Our trained information professionals are well-equipped to assist you in various ways:

Library Stock: In today's cost-conscious environment, relying on the Royal Faculty library's collective resources is a wise choice for large and small firms alike.

Online Subscriptions: We offer electronic subscriptions to legal databases like Westlaw and Lexis+ to complement our physical library collection.

Enquiry Service and Document Delivery: We can assist with basic research inquiries and aim to respond to requests for scanned documents within 2 hours of request.

Catalogue: Our online library catalogue can be accessed here.

Quiet Study: Our city-centre location is a great space for quiet study with WiFi.

Induction Training: To maximize your use the library's resources, especially for new trainees in your firm.

Sheriff Court Library: We also have a small library in the Sheriff Court for last-minute reference.
Social Events

To foster a collegiate spirit and provide members with the opportunity to socialise and network with fellow professionals the Faculty holds a number of social events during the course of the year. including an annual golf tournament, the Dean's Christmas Party and the Biennial Dinner and one-off events such as the Creativity in the Law Exhibition, an annual quiz, etc.
Auditor and Court Feeing Service

The Royal Faculty Auditor has been providing a reliable and independent service to the legal profession since 1844 which encompasses all aspects of executry and trust accounts:
• A certificate of fee assessment, bearing the Royal Faculty crest, is prepared for all accounts issued.
• If required, an account of charge and discharge can be prepared.
• A computation of legal and prior rights can also be prepared.
• All aspects of capital gains and inheritance tax work can be undertaken, including returns.
Hall Hire

The RFPG has a number of rooms available for hire, most notably the spacious Faculty Hall and the atmospheric Small Library, in an ideal location in the city centre. Hall hire is available to members at substantially discounted rates.
Charitable Funds

The RFPG operates charitable funds to help members and former members, their spouses/civil partners, or dependents in need. The Council, as the Trustees, has full discretion in awarding grants to qualifying applicants. All applications are strictly confidential.

This is the legal vacancies section of the RFPG website and is an economical way of advertising vacancies; it is also very effective with a proven track record of reaching the target audience.
