About the Talk:
In this talk, Malcolm will provide an overview of the community rights to buy which are provided for in the Land Reform (Scotland) Acts of 2003 and 2016, together with an update on the recent developments that may affect existing owners and budding community owners.
About the Speaker:
Malcolm is a senior lecturer at the School of Law at the University of Strathclyde. He joined the School from the University of Aberdeen, and prior to that was a solicitor in private practice. He has a particular interest in Scots property law. He is a member of the Scottish Land Fund committee and previously acted as an external advisor to the Scottish Government’s Land Reform Review Group and Deer Working Group. He co-edited Land Reform in Scotland: History, Law and Policy (with Jayne Glass and Annie Tindley) and has written about many aspects of Scottish land reform and landlord and tenant law.
