About the event

Speakers: Liam Entwistle & Colin Millar

This seminar will look at current issues for GP partnerships including developments in partnership agreement drafting and dealing with conflicts among partners in light of recent trends for general practice.

Colin will look at recent trends in partnership agreement drafting for GP practices including the increased use of ‘green socks’ clauses and provisions for partnership stability.

Liam will consider the various ways in which conflict between partners can arise, and can be resolved, while keeping any impact on the future of the practice to a minimum.

Liam Entwistle is Chair of Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP and a senior partner within their Conflict Resolution Group, specialising in employment law. Liam has a formidable track record in the Employment and Employment Appeal Tribunal, but is also equally skilled in alternative dispute resolution, having facilitated over 100 hours of employment mediation as a Mediator. Due to his depth of experience in acting for the medical profession, Liam is regularly called on by organisations such as The University of Glasgow, Scotland’s Health at Work, Healthy Working Lives and NHS Education for Scotland to train and lecture on law and regulatory matters.

Colin Millar graduated from Glasgow University with an LLB (Honours) in 1989 and Diploma in Legal Practice in 1990, qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and is currently a partner and Head of the Corporate Group at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP. He has over 25 years’ experience in advising on partnership law generally and specifically in relation to GP practices, understanding the current issues affecting GPs in recruitment, succession planning and ensuring practice stability.
