About the event

About the Event:

Cases involving parties seeking specific issue orders to relocate are increasingly common in the Scottish courts. The seminar will focus on the key relevant authorities and issues for practitioners to think about when advising clients. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end of the presentation. By the end of the seminar, participants should be fully up to date with current law and practice in respect of relocations.

About the Speaker, Alex Critchley:

Alex called to the bar in June 2023, having previously practised as a solicitor in the family law teams of two leading multidisciplinary law firms. He qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2016 and in England and Wales in 2020. He has particular interest and expertise in cases involving the international aspects of family law. He holds a doctorate in private international law and lectures at the University of Edinburgh in the subject.
