About the speaker - Sheriff Tom McCartney:

Graduate of Glasgow University;

Solicitor and then solicitor advocate in private practice from 1979 to 2009; Accredited as family law specialist by Law Society of Scotland; Family Law mediator accredited with CALM , approx. 1998 to 2009; Part-time sheriff, 2005 to 2009; Floating sheriff in Tayside, Central and Fife, 2009 to 2012; Sheriff in North Strathclyde at Paisley Sheriff Court, 2012 to present.

Appeal sheriff, 2020 to present.
