About the event

A panel session – amied at students & trainees – comprising of current trainees, solicitors from smaller high-street practices, and larger firm staff partners discussing and answering questions on entering into the profession and initial progress through their careers.

Refreshments will be available after the panel, allowing for socialising and networking opportunities with current professionals in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

About the Speakers:

Christine McKay:

Current L&D manager at Harper Macleod LLP, Christine is also an accredited Coach, Associate CIPD member and fellow with the Learning & Performance Institute, with experience across Legal, Retail and Manufacturing.

Sarah Lynch:

I have been with Pomphreys for ten years originally as an assistant solicitor and having taken over as Managing Partner on the 30th September. We are a general practice and I work within our litigation and private client department. Personally, I am married and have two young children, Mirryn who is 5 and Iona who will be three in mid-October.

Noah Norbash:

Noah grew up just outside Boston in the United States. He graduated from Edinburgh Law School with the Graduate LLB in 2022 and the Diploma in 2023. Noah commenced his traineeship with Digby Brown in September 2023.

Taylor Reid:

Taylor is a second-year Trainee Solicitor at Mitchells Roberton Solicitors, who has had experience in both Private Client and Residential Conveyancing. Growing up, Taylor always knew she aspired for a career in the legal sector, but due to coming from a disadvantaged background, she did not think this would be possible. Taylor will discuss her route into the legal profession and how it is possible to become a Trainee regardless of your background.
