Claire Macpherson (Burness Paul LLP) - The Taxation of Trusts: Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax

The seminar will cover the various different types of trust that can be set up, both during lifetime and on death, from discretionary trust to immediate post death interest trust. The seminar will also examine how to establish what type of trust a trust is for the various tax purposes and the inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax treatment of each trust.

 

Claire is a partner in the Private Client division of Burness Paull LLP and is dual accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Private Client Tax and Trust Law. She has extensive experience in inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning including advising international clients and a particular expertise in matters of domicile and succession law. She acts for a large number of business owners, advising on all areas of trust and tax law and in the tax aspects of setting up Family Investment Companies.
