The RFPG's Annual Civil Procedure Half-Day Conference
The conference will cover a range of topics which should be of interest to all civil practitioners in the sheriff court, in whatever area they may practice.
The distinguished speakers and a brief outline of their talks are :-
• Sheriff Principal Sean Murphy, Sheriff Principal of North Strathclyde and Vice President of the Sheriff Appeal Court, on the Sheriff Appeal Court, its practices and procedures , including guidance on the conduct of appeals.
• Graeme Welsh, Secretary of the Scottish Civil Justice Council on the work of the council and its current programme for rule reforms.
• Sheriff David Taylor on the conduct of civil business in Glasgow Sheriff Court and future developments there.
• Sheriff Gillian Craig of Paisley Sheriff Court on improving pleadings and practice in the sheriff court.
• Charles Hennessy, on proving facts in civil proceedings : admissions, statements, affidavits, and evidence.
