In June 2015, the Scottish Government issued its Consultation on the Laws of Succession. This indicated possible major changes to our Laws of Succession, particularly in relation to intestacy and protection from disinheritance (Legal Rights). On 18 October 2018, the Scottish Government published its comments on the responses to said Consultation.
This Seminar will consider -
• What changes the Scottish Government have indicated they will make – and why.
• What changes (which might have been expected) are not now going to be made – and why.
• What matters have been held over for further consideration/consultation.
