About the Seminar:
We will examine the current rights of cohabitees under the Family Law Scotland Act 2006 and how these rights effect individuals in practice. We will explore how a cohabitation agreement can help couples regulate what they wish to happen to their assets in the event of separation, with a particular focus on the repercussions of not having an agreement in place. Finally, there shall be discussion surrounding the effectiveness of the current legislation and whether reform is required, and if so, to what extent.
About the Speaker, Philippa Abernethy, Associate:
