Congratulations and sincere thanks to all involved.

Wednesday 27th May saw the conclusion of 2026's Sheriff Principal's Mooting Competition, as teams from the University of Glasgow and the City of Glasgow College competed in a hotly contested final.
Unfortunately, Sheriff Principal Anwar was unable to preside over the final as normal, but thankfully Sheriff Tony Kelly was on hand to oversee proceedings and offer guidance and words of encouragement to both sides. He noted that the level of advocacy and submission from both sides was "outstanding", with the "pace, delivery and engagement with the judge" a real highlight. The students "ability to deal with interruptions from the bench" was also highly commended.
After careful deliberation, Sheriff Kelly noted how difficult it was to pick a winner, but ultimately felt that City of Glasgow College had edged it and were crowned worthy winners.
The RFPG would like to extend a massive congratulations to Sophie Oag and Sheldon Mills (City of Glasgow College) as well as Harry Braid and Katie Ronnie (University of Glasgow) for all of their hard work and professionalism throughout the competition.
We would also like to thank Sheriff Kelly for stepping in to preside over the final, as well as John McKenzie for acting as clerk.
We hope to see everyone back next year for another exciting run of the Sheriff Principal's Mooting Competition.
