A Civil Court Users Group has been established with a view to support the Sheriff Principal in the management of civil business and to create the conditions for an efficient service for court users.
The RFPG will be represented on the Group by several civil court practitioners, providing a valuable channel for practitioner input into the operation of Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Faculty members are warmly invited to share any comments, observations, or feedback on how civil business is currently operating in the court. Contributions will help inform the Faculty’s participation in the Group’s discussions and initiatives and should be made by email to library@rfpg.org .
The full remit of the Civil Court Users Group is as follows -
The purpose of the Civil Courts User Group is to support the Sheriff Principal in the management of civil business (particularly the family, ordinary, simple procedure, summary cause, commissary, and heritable courts) and to create the conditions for an efficient service for court users.

It will monitor compliance with any Practice Notes issued by the Sheriff Principal. Data relating to the throughput of civil business will be shared with the members of the group to assist them in their task. The Group will be accountable to, and report to, the Sheriff Principal.
