Doors Open Day 2022

The Royal Faculty Building will be open for Glasgow Doors Open Day on Saturday 17 Sept. from 12pm-4pm.

The building, into which the Faculty and its library moved in 1857, was designed by the architect Charles Wilson in the style of a Venetian Palazzo. Wilson is also responsible for some of Glasgow's most notable buildings, including Park Circus, Rutherglen Town Hall, Gartnavel Hospital, Trinity College; and further afield - Lews Castle in Stornoway, Wemyss Bay railway station and the John Neilson Institution in Paisley.

The keystones to the arches, depicting the faces of eminent lawyers were modelled by Alexander Handyside Ritchie and carved by James Shanks.
