New Court Programme

Updated: Jan 11, 2023

An update from the Sheriff Principle

Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull would like to make all RFPG members aware of the new court programme, which will operate from 4th January 2023, and can be found on the attached PDF below:

Please note there are a small number of changes from the previous programme (that which has been in effect since the end of August 2022), which are as follows:

Week 2

The pilot Female Offenders Court replaces the Alcohol Court (in court 10; on Monday)

The proof courts change to ordinary (incl summary cause) in court 9 and family proofs in court 23.

Week 3

Court 9 will be for FAIs only (although if none assigned this will be used for proofs, if we can accommodate).

Court 11 moves from domestic summary trials to mainstream summary trials.

Week 4

The dedicated adoption procedural court has been discontinued (it previously sat on the Wednesday in court 22). All adoption and permanence cases will be case managed by the family sheriffs (and any proofs in those classes of case will be in the family proof courts).

Court 11 moves from domestic summary trials to mainstream summary trials.
