Sheriff Principal’s Mooting Competition Returns to the Royal Faculty

The Royal Faculty of Procurators is pleased to announce the return of the Sheriff Principal’s Mooting Competition, taking place this April and May in the Faculty Hall. Having been run very successfully over the past two years, the competition continues to support and showcase the advocacy skills of early-stage law students from across Glasgow.
Semi-Final Rounds
First Semi-Final: Wednesday 16 April, 5:30pm
Students from Glasgow University and City of Glasgow College will go head-to-head in the opening moot, judged by Sheriff Stuart Reid. Each team will consist of two first or second-year law students.
Second Semi-Final: Wednesday 30 April, 5:30pm
The second semi-final will see teams from Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University compete. The moot will be judged by a serving Sheriff (to be confirmed).
The Final
Wednesday 21 May, 5:30pm
The winners of each semi-final will meet in the final, which will be judged by Sheriff Principal Anwar.
Open to All
All moots are free to attend and open to law students and practitioners. Whether you're involved in the competition or just interested in attending, you are very welcome.
Each event will be followed by a drinks reception, offering a relaxed setting for conversation and networking among students, Faculty members, and members of the judiciary.
